长期从事阻燃材料、含能材料及无机非金属材料等方面的研究工作。作为项目负责人完成国家科技支撑项目1项、广东省教育部项目1项。作为主要研究人员参加 10 余项国家和省部级项目，包括科技部国家科技支撑项目、国防科工委重大基础研究项目、国家 863 计划项目等。讲授本科生课程及研究生课程。获国家科学技术进步奖二等奖一项。目前共发表学术论文 20 余篇，已授权发明专利 10余项。
